Wearing Renault colors for the last season, as next year the Australian will defend McLaren from Zak Brown, Daniel Ricciardo revealed that the car made by the black and yellow team in 2020 showed considerable improvements over 2019. Last year, the team led by Cyril Abiteboul finished the constructors' championship in sixth place, with 39 points - and much is due to the poor performance presented by the projected car. However, this season has shown that the team has managed to make specific adjustments and the drivers are getting better performances at each GP. - Ah yes, the rear of the car is definitely better. In fact, I don't know exactly which part of the car is the real reason (for the improvement). Basically we managed to reach the speed earlier and with that, you can feel the downforce there and it's working - he commented in an interview with Sky Sports.

Even with medium compounds, Ricciardo reached third place at the end of Q2, but in the following session he was surpassed by Nico Hülkenberg - replacing Sergio Pérez who remains positive for Covid-19. The surprising position of the German was celebrated by the Renault driver who also highlighted a growing team in relation to the time of the opponent Red Bull. This Saturday, Ricciardo was 121 cents from ex-teammate Max Verstappen and will start one position behind. - Obviously we are very happy, there is a lot of progress there, I think we were eight tenths from Max (Verstappen), or something, last week and Hulk came and ... I think he adjusted his neck this week ( laughs). He's feeling free and ready to compete, but obviously I take my hat off to him, we all know that car is working, I don't mean it's just the car, I think he did a great job after sitting down on the couch for so long. It is not easy, even though he is a veteran, it is not easy to do that. I don't care what others say, so I really tip my hat to him, he did a great job!
